so if you use the fine sand those plants like hair grass and glosso will not grow onto them is it?

Looks like Chan better start stocking up his 1ft cubes. I've gotten mine (together with Simon) but yet to setup the tank... it's now sitting on my office table attracting questions on what am I gonna do with the tank.

    Simon,
As I said b4 the river sand looks weird IMO. Don't you think the river sand will mix with the base fert over time?

On the positive side, I like your choice of plants. Hope that the hairgrass carpet soon. Definately would look good.
    Cheers!!

possibilities of that happening is present.. but I will try not to do too much planting especially near the border of both.. actually, it do look strange, but I guess it will change once the tank mature

hippo, the tonina sp. is from Bioplast

and I do agree, the 1ft cube is well produced

Office must move to some areas that have better tax rebates and technical support. Problably have to wait atleast few months for it to happen.....

My former boss used to have a 2.5 ft marine tank in our office. One CNY long weekend, the electricals shorted out, the equipment stopped, and the fishes died. The tank was empty for a while until my boss left the company. Then we took the tank and setup a planted tank... my first modern planted tank.

Then a few other staff got in on the act and we had several tanks with newts, rhino bettles, scorpions, spiders, tree frogs and snakes. Not all at the same time though.
