http://www.theaquarians.net/html/sec...rticle-16.html
Dear Forumer,
Have anyone tested putting plant into hot water to get rid all kind of unwated (Snail, Worm)
Planning to setup new landscape and transfer existing plant. Worry the worm or snail get migrated to new setup. any recommendation to ensure all unwated (SNAIL,WORM) remove?
Appreciate your advice
Cheers
Edi
Potassium Permaganate?

hot water will kill the plant as well. I believe Potassium Permaganate will not kill the egg. I use bleach, but it will kill some plants.
plant in hot water... that's cooking! haha!
planaria, like leeches, do not like salt... i think some snails too (but unsure of tolerance).
but not sure about other worms.
Dear All,
thanks for all inputs, Sound salt water most ideal. I will give a try.
Thanks everyone
Cheers
Edi
From what I noticed, if there are no shrimps there are normally no planaria.
eh?
hmm...
few months ago, i was cycling my tank without fish, without shrimps. only soil and plants. and there was planaria crawling on the tank wall after a while. really tiny ones.
someone told me that it exists in our water, and with the right conditions, it will grow.
Is that true? Dang! my tank just got these 1mm planaria that's beginning to irritate me. how can I rid them without harming my newt and CRS?
You have a newt and CRS in the same tank??
Your CRS haven't been disappearing? My Boraras Brigattae took care of my hydra and planaria, and as a plus their mouths are too small to eat CRS, even the shrimplets, I saw one try and the shrimplet just flicked away and swam off.
I did however witness one of my Anentome Helena eating an A Grade CRS yesterday though, they have since been banished to another tank.
are u serious? i thought helena anetome only eats other snails?
i have 2 in my tank they're great for controlling the population of pest snails...
