I shall try not to dissapoint when i come to unveil it then I seem somewhat unsure its going to be a success. Going by my previous attempt at 'good plant care' it failed miserably Although i've been on here long enough to see others experiences and techniques so i'm a little optimistic it'll go according to plan

wow....nice scaping......with total clarity. i have the intention of growing hc in a one footer with crs (w/o chiller) but worried that if i up the wattage of the light, my crs may not be able to take it. will aqua tornado fans do the job instead of chiller? any advise?

zhou_yuande: I have not tried keeping crs so I don't have any experience with them. As for the lighting, I have 110W in my tank. That's pretty hot I suppose. What I do is instead of blowing my fan directly into my water column, I blow it in a 45 degree angle. Therefore, my tank and lights are kept cool at the same time.

Verminator: Failure is part of the learning process in this hobby. Without it, this hobby wouldn't be as interesting as it is right? If in doubt, there's always AQ.

AquaObsession: Thanks. Your tanks are looking good too.

Keeping CRS in a 1 footer is more challenging as the error margin is narrower and fluctuations tend to be higher. Keeping temperature low (and consistently low) is definitely not easy without a chiller as cooling fan is highly dependent on room temperature. If you have not started the tank... perhaps consider a slightly larger tank?

crazyhanz/jervis : thank you for the advise. currently have a 4 footer with crs, sakura and cardinal. as there's space contraint in my house, unable to have another bigger tank. trying to have a smaller tank for keeping crs solely as i have not succeeded in breeding crs in my 4 footer (also w/o chiller).

    Hey crazyhanz.
Beautiful tank! I particulary like how the rocks on the left look like they are stacked with grass growing between them.
But, whats with the white backgrounds on the the sides?
    just wondering.

    BTW,
your tank name kept reminding me of the horror movie silent hill.lol.
Im not saying that your tank looks like horror in ANYway.hahaha.

    Re: Silent Hills

Thanks Cyworld for the comments. The white background on the sides are to prevent direct sunlight from entering the tank. GSA on glass walls would look ugly in IMO. I am facing this issue because my tank is placed next to a window.
