    Hello all,

I have bought some plants (moss) tied on mesh and US Fissidens tied on DW in my tanks (currently doing cycle of tank).

After seeingsome great pics from all of your work, I would like to DIY some of the scape by tying the plant on to the a subject.

I tried to study the ones that I have, but it seems that they are quite well grown and I am not able to see where the fisihing line we tied onto the plants.

I would like to have some mini pellia in my tank and among all the subject to tie this plant to, I hope that the wire mesh would be the correct one for me to start to learn (small and flat, more control).

Would like to request for guildance for the followings :

    1) How to tie ? arrange the plants on the mesh and use the fishing line to go around it ? or is there any things that I need to take note?
    2) How tight should I tie ? I would kill it if is too tight (I suppose), but when I look at the end products in LFS, it seems that the plants are lying flat (quite tight) onto the mesh.
    3) when tying, do I need to tie at the lowest part (roots, if any) of the plants or I can just run the fishing line over the body of the plants ?

what plant are you talking about? not all plant can be tie. You should not tie too tight, it will kill it. After a while the plant root will stick to the wood or stone, at this time you can cut the string away.

In general fern, anubias and moss can be tie, the rest not Advisable.

mini pellia is very fragile, so extra care needed when you tie it up. They do not have root. Use cotton string is easier than fishing string. Do not tie them to tight because it might end up cutting them into 2, it will survive though
