OK guys so i havent been posting here regularly as the marine side has really become addictive to me! I now keep primarily Stomatopods (Mantis Shrimp) and a few other small predators. I hope you enjoy the photos.
I will start with Lysiosquilla maculata, the zebra mantis shrimp, this Mantis lives in a burrow that it creates and holds with mucus.

Psuedosquilla ciliata (highly polymorphic, often in yellow)

    Lysiosquilla tredecimdentata (rare)

    Gonodactylus chiragra (very shy)

    Odontodactylus scyllarus (Peacock/Harlequin Mantis)

    Not Mantis

Here are some of the other fish and inverts i keep. Everything is housed seperately, all Mantis shrimps are in individual systems.

    Sargassum Frogfish

Pair of Tomatoe Clowns (A. frenatus) with Bubble Tip Anemone

    Harlequin Shrimp (eats starfish)

    FuMan Chu Lionfish

I do have more photos on the camera, will upload them later on.
Hope you like, happy Marine keeping!

Jervis, all the mantis are in seperate tanks...if they were in the same tank, they would just kill each other.
Right now i have no good quality videos of my Mantis feeding, perhaps this weekend i will get some and post!

Wow, really like those mantis. What do you feed them? Live food?

The lionfish is awsome. Fu Manchu lionfish are known to be really fussy eaters, and often only take livefood. This takes anything you want him to, freeze thawed krill/silversides/squid, even takes the brine shrimp and flake intended for the damsel! (same goes for the frogfish)
As regards to feeding mantis, smashers require live foods such as crabs and snails to keep their raptorial appendages in working order. If you just feed them frozen food they will never use their appendages properly and will therefor loose them in a moult. They get any crabs that get found in the rocks, hermit crabs (although these are usually just pulled out of their shell rather than smashed) ghost shrimps and then a mixture of frozen thawed food soaked in vitamin supplement such as lancefish and krill. The spearers get soaked freeze thawed aswell as a damsel every now and then.
    Thanks for the comments guys.

Mez is not from Singapore. But Coral Farm Aquaristic (aka CF) has the nice mantis shrimp which are not regarded as undesirable in live rock for sale, maybe can pop down and have a look.

1ft tank is only big enough for certain species, usually the ones found in rock.
The big colourful ones will be peacocks or zebra mantis. Peacocks need a 3ft tank really, and the zebras 2ft with at least 14" depth of sand.
