bought a 2nd hand 2026 and i couldnt prime the water so brought it for servicing at qianhu.

the staffs told me that the priming buttom wasnt smooth, ie very hard to press it and takes sometime b4 it pops back up. he then went on to spray some eheim lubricant at the priming button.

    the spray he used

e spray the entire circumference of the priming button

press the button a few times to spread the lubricant. there u go a smooth priming button

the white ball that shows the flowrate also doubles as a check valve to facilitate priming. mine was corroded and damaged thus explain the priming problem.

the friendly and helpful staffs told me to replace it with a plunger instead of a new ball as the former is more durable.

my double tap connection to the power head is kinda stucky and hard to connect so the staffs also helped to spray some lube onto it.
the guy advise me to lube it when it gets a little jammed to prevent breaking the grey lever when forcing it down to connect e tap to the pump head.

we to the back to test and volia! the priming button is back at work and kudos to all the qh staffs who helped me. a million thanks to them

the ever useful lubricating spray is damn bloody useful but qh doesnt have any more stock even thou they placed the order months ago but it aint arriving

luckily got some lao jiao uncle taught me to dissolve a little eheim lubricant with hot water and pour it to the prime button (refer to 2nd pic) where my cotton bud is pointing to and push the button a couple of times.

DO NOT turn over the pump head to press the prime button, ie the bottom of the pump head should be facing up unless u want oily water to leak onto you.

lastly, the cannister should be empty when priming and it should start filling up after 1 or 2 push of the prime button.

hope this would help the people who face the same problem as me.

interesting solution for the worn out ball.

Does the red plunger indicate the flow rate as well?
    It's original Eheim part right?
    How much it cost?

Oops. I have not found much need to prime if I fill up my canister fully before switching on the 2026. Previously, with half-filled canister, I can prime all i want, but it just does not fill up unless I use alot of effort.

Could be the level of the canister as opposed to the tank height. I'll try empty canister priming next time.

i suppose so..what i did was to have my pail placed on a chair and managed to prime it with just 1 press.

when left the pail on the floor i got to press a few times to get the cannister kicking.
