so many fauna in 1.5ft tank
Oh dear, a little overstocked. Too many fish for such a small tank. The mix of fish is certainlky interesting too. Angels, appistos and corydoras? Someone has collectoritus do they not? Also so many fish in a tank which your trying to achieve good plant growth with ferts? Seems like you have too many ideas for such a small tank. I was guilty of this when i started out too. Angels certainly arent ideal fish for a 1.5ft tank. They get big and require ample swimming space where they can fully come into their own.

The canvas is what you make it...

maybe u can take away the flat rock at the right side.
ok, will do it tomorrow and see how it looksthanks for the suggestion

Hi Nick...your main rock's shape, size and position looks very good, i like it very much!
but those supporting rocks are not!
to achieve more natural effect, the rocks are suppsoed to be "planted" or buried into the soil slightly, not just put them on top the soil, so that the rocks will look like some hills or mountain coming out from the earth, and not just some broken stone you put on the ground.
as others mentioned, too many fish, both in terms of amount and types.
i guess this tank is just being set up? i would say beside the algae crew, you should not put any 'show fish' in the tank in the first 1-2 months!
and try to keep to 1 or maximum 2 types of show fish.....
i love the rock arrangement concept of this tank, a lot of potential.
some fine tuning will defitely make it a nice tank!
and by the way....very good job on the DIY lily pipe! although it is a little lacking on the easthetic side, but it it gets the job done with a fraction of the cost! well done!!

you main rock a bit too right. try to adjust a bit to right and add more stone.
anyway just my 5 cent..lol.

Sorry add something not related to layout
noticed u used duckweed to absord the excess ferts but
the recommended dosage is not suitable for you .... 2~3 squirts into the tank ......
will get algae problem. New tank no need so much maybe only one squirt/dun add for now.
When u have larger plant mass then kick up the dosage a notch or 2.
jus mine 2 cents

hi bro,
where did u get those rocks?
cheers
ok, will tweak the rocks slightly, its a rescape so all the fish were in there before.
Sorry, i do not really understand what you are suggesting
To tell you the truth, i'm dosing a lot less than what the recommended dosing is, i guess i wasn't thinking when i typed it
Right behind my house
P.S. an update coming soon

i am sorry but this is way too messy. you will need to clear some fish and keep only those that are compatible in a small tank with limited hiding places.
also your plants don't look too healthy and are those left over food on the substrate? (pink color debris)...if so, overfeeding mate

A pair of angelfish need at least a 2 feet tank to grow well and probably more when mature, also they hunt on smaller fishes like tetras.
I recommend getting a much bigger tank like 3 feet and a canister filter. reduce your feeding to once a day (I notice your moss on the wall are getting brown algae, sure sign of polluted water)
If its fish you want then get a bigger tank with bigger filtration and create a tank to show off your fish. Seriously seriously too small a tank for this many fish. Your fish arent looking to bad concidering that your plants appear to be crying out for attention. The moss looks depleted and the anubiuas behind looks rather dishevelled. I'd hate to see you suffer heavy casualties but you really aught to amend the wrongs and sooner rather than later.
