Usually it will grow back. One time I try CAU suggestion by cutting all the leaf during scaping left with only rhizome and it recover after a while. It is easier to tie that way

I got some dying needle leaf java ferns, there is still some light green on the rhizome, but almost none on the leaves itself. What can I do? Trying to put them in a petri dish with a wet cotton wool with black water extract and covered with a clear wrap and a hole punctured into it. Not sure if it will do better.
