    Hi,

I just wonder if anyone of you tried using a 1/10 hp chiller on a 1 ft tank.

My current setup is a 30x27x20 nano tank with a Eheim 2211.

2211 flow rate might not be enough.

2211 flow way too low, you might want to use external sensor or external temp controller

you might want to get lower horse power, fyi I'm using 1/10 for 3ft tank

Eheim 2211 confirm won't be enough, and a 1/10 HP will be an overkill!
Small tanks gain heat very quickly and running a 1/10HP on it may chalk some impressive electrical bills.

that very expensive fan, what so special about the fan? have not seen that brand before.

By the way there is also smaller chiller 1/15 hp. Not sure if there is 1/20hp

You can try using Hailea HC-100a. It's a 1/20HP chiller. Eheim 2211 should be able to power it well.

    Hi JadeIceGreen,

I am thinking of running a ehiem 2222 using 1/15 or 1/20 chiller for a 30cm cube. Is it an overkill? Will the electric bill be high?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

For your information, i am using 1/15 chiller + external temperature controller. and ehiem classic 2215 ( more filter media volume) for my 1.5ft tank setup.

    Hopes this helps.

Thanks for your advice. May I know what brand is your chiller? Can pm me the price and where you got it from? Why do you need a external temperature controller?

I using artica 1/15 hp chiller. The temperature controller for this model tends to break down. So i am using external controller and you can control the on/off temperature also.

May I know where and how much did you buy your Artica 1/15 hp chiller? Is it noisy when it turned on? How much is your electric bill? Any difference? Btw, is 1/15hp the smallest? Is it too much for 30cm cube tank? Sorry I have so many questions.

    Thanks.
