    Dear all,

Which model of ehiem filter would be adequate for a 4ft planted tank? And is 4 x 36W (6500k) PL light sufficient?

    Thanks in advance.

I'm using a Pro 2224. Pump output: 700l/hr. Good enough for 250 ltr tank i.e. 4 feet. Efficient and quiet. Petmart good price.

Capacity of filter for Planted Tank is get the biggest u can afford. Just make sure to diffuse the outflow back to tank. This require u to DIY something like a rainbar but submerged in water.

regarding the filter, get the 2028 if possible....that is because after time, the flow-rate will deminished through...wear and tear plus the muck that it is going to collect.

As for your lights, what is the depth and width of the tank? If your tank is 4x1.5x1.5 your current light power should be enough. if your width is 2ft, then it depends on how well your light is spreading across. If your height is 2ft and with high light plants, consider 6x36 watts or get an MH light if you have not purchase your PL
