thats a cool observation! haven't considered the effects of alcohol on fish when using DIY Co2. Wonder if its a once off due to other factors though. Pls keep us updated on this..

Today is my second day of pressurised CO2 and I observe a difference.
My DIY CO2 was large enough to supply enough CO2 to my tanks for me not observe a greater pearling after the change. More than 2 years ago before constructing my Madhatter System I had a misgiving using DIY CO2 - the gas produced would be saturated with alcohol which will end up getting mixed with the tank water - causing what? Alchoholic fish!!
Without making any other changes, yesterday I connected the pressurised CO2 to my existing supply system and kept the rate of bubbles same as before ie. same as it was under the DIY CO2 Mahatter System (http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=54159).
Today I observed that my fishes were unusualy active in the late afternoon, on other days by this time my fishes normally would have been sedate and move in a stately way. I bet it was the alcohol...... rather its absence.
A rolling stone which has come to rest
