The female is in very different colouration,is it in breeding mode?
In breeding mood it would look something like that. Dark lines visible across the face and body.
picture has a wrong genus to this specie. (old pic, sorry!)

Thanks Eugene for the photo,the female is ready but the male dont seems to respond to it,lets wait and see what is going to happen,keep my finger cross.
BTW,how many types of Anomala are there available in Singapore?
There's only 1 type of anomala. But there are many types of Nannacara. So far, i've only seen anomala commonly avaliable in local market. Would love a pair of Nannacara aureocephalus though, anyone any leads!?
