Your number 1 is a mistake?? Haha!
So if you could turn back the clock, you wouldn't want to be part of number 1, and maybe never end up in this hobby at all?

What is yours? I have a whole long list
1. Agreeing to be part of a community of owners. Together we 'own' 6 fishtanks divided between three homes (near by). Started when a friend upped and left town and left us with her 8 tanks ,used and unused, to sell. Plus some fishes to boot. My role now is to ensure no fish fights and to get rid of dead fishes for all 6 tanks.
2. Being soft hearted and taking in all unwanted fishes. Now all 6 tanks are in operation just cos Barbs (which I tried to give away in vain) cannot get along with Cichlids who cannot get along with angel fishes. Neon tetras and guppies have lost fins and tails. Feeder goldfishes all died. Sucker fish got killed. Four crying kids spread across two households to attend to. None mine, thank goodness
3. Not reading up enough about fishes. This I feel is an evil mistake, leading to loss of fish lives.
4. Not telling friend to stop her kids from buying pretty fishes they fancy.
5. Long time ago in my office, I inherited a fish tank and the giver told me the heater was a thermometer. One day some idiot made the heater hotter and I came back to 15 dead fishes. I can still remember the smell to this day. Put me off fishes for three years. I was so upset that I cooked my own fishes.
Anyone else got a list? Lets share - its free therapy.![]()

My biggest mistake. Taking for granted new fishes are healthy and introducing them into the main tank without quarantine. Just lost about a grand worth of fishes from this mistake.

Beetroot, maybe so. I think I am not cut out to own fishes but now I have to cos what to do?? no one wants the fishes...I think fishes need a very responsible owner cos they cant 'ask' for food or water changes.
Genes...a grand is painful! How??!
ouch that's sad news eugeneWhat's the new fish and the casualties?

Hi Sharefish,
Are you still having all these problems? Looks like you may need some serious help...... I'm sure there will be some bros here staying near to your area and will be able to help you with some advice to your current setup.. and it should not be too difficult to offload some of these fishes through the forum to someone with a more suitable setup for them... Fish keeping should be more enjoyable for you... Cheers!

Elmike - I am also absent minded
Hope you are feeling better Eugene...
I am now taking care of 1 tiger and 4 rosy barbs. Tiger was attacked at first and now they all live happily together. Just have to feed often or they get nippy.
