Magnificent tail! The dorsal does look a bit weird but still a wonderful fish.

    Re: Apistogramma bitaeniata

To mictok: I bought Apistogramma agassizi x1 and elizabethae x3 for other tanks, 4feet and 3feet respectively. One breed per tank The elizabethae mortality is low due to fighting. One died after being bullied by the other two. Then the second was blinded by the third and died subsequently. Now I am left with one elizabethae after buying three.

To tonicwater: Yes, I have to give them enough room (5feet) to live. They are pretty nasty to their own kind.

To marle & leechongyu: this fish is quite senior already. and can tell from picture if I am correct.

    OK, guys, picture for today:

    Re: Apistogramma bitaeniata

You did great in keeping it for so long! However the dorsal fin area seems very uneven, which could be due to several factors but nevertheless a great apisto.

    Cheers!

wow, even with the odd looking dorsals, he still looks magnificent and eye catching ! I love the long ventrals and caudal fins.

Thanks for sharing these photos. You are a good keeper of apistos. Hope I would be able to keep mine for that long period.

Magnificent looking piece. A living proof of how the old still possesses the 'X' factor and is definitely no less intriguing than the young!

The tail splits into 2 ends, like on the male.

    Re: Apistogramma bitaeniata

Not really split into 2. Pardon my lousy english. I mean something like end in 2 pointed ends, like in the 2nd picture.

    Re: Apistogramma bitaeniata

Gene, I am sure it is a female because she turned yellow a couple of times. I think they ate the egg as I go 50% water change everyweek and prune the plant as much as possible.

    Here is another dance
