How often should a chiller need to be serviced? Mine has been running for 5 years already. What is the best way to clear the sludge in the pipes? Flushing them with water? Any suggestions are welcome.
Everything should be made as simple as possible...but not one bit simpler.

I've no idea on the service frequency but i do clean my pipes. Because it's rather long, (up to 4ft), i clean it with a simple DIY tool. Have a 8.5ft long string, tie up a small piece of sponge in the middle. When cleaning, insert one end into the pipe with the help from water flow from tap. When it comes out the other end of pipe, just pull both end at alternate timing.

A regular maintenance is key for long term performance.

Things you need to do at lease once a year tuning up your chiller:
    a. Clean the condenser fins/filter to allow better airflow.
    b. Increase the flow rate through the chiller. It is better to error on more flow than a slower flow rate to increase turnover of the warm water.
    c. Back flush the chiller to prevent calcium build up on the heat exchanger will slows down the cooling performance.

    Re: Servicing chillers

I think once every year service is required.

For easy maintenance, just flush thru the chiller with tap water. For professional maintenance, can ask chiller professionals to use chemical wash, plus vaccumm etc.

Life span of most chillers do not exceed 4-5 years. Wad brand is yours.

Hi bros, mine RESUN CL280 is particularly noisy. Any suggestions to reduce the compressor noise? Thanks.
