sorry for asking, where's the gallery? hehe
Hi, would like to share my limited experiences on collecting Singapore moss.
Months back, collected some moss that usually grow on the side of the drain and left it in a container in my planted tank. After a few days/weeks, you will see that it start to grow and will start to look like a moss. I tied it onto a DW and now it look like in the picture.
Last 2 weeks, I have collected some moss that grow on the ground for a new project I am working on. After some cleaning, I have "planted" them on into the tank (refer to picture). I still have some that is in the container in case those in the tank cannot make it or melt away.
You can collected those rock that already have moss growing on it, this is more natural so that you dun have to tie it at a later stage.
Cleaning the moss is always a challenge as you will usually ended with a lot of mud and debris to clean. Sometime have worm like creatures too.
To me, is worth it for the fun..
All pictures posted in the gallery.

It's already in the gallery, linking it here will not incur more space[memory] except bandwidth of opening this thread. [which people who see this thread would click the link you posted to understand what you're talking about anyway]
[did that make sense?]

indeed the original Singapore moss was found on a rock from a stream near Dairy Farm estate. this rock was put into the founder's aquarium and as it grew more it started to look similar to the Christmas moss which was hugely expensive in those days. we started passing the Singapore moss around and got Prof. Benito from RMBR to confirm its ID (which led us to discover that Java moss is NOT Vesicularia dubyana as widely stated in Internet literature).
It was also Prof. Benito who suggests the name Singapore moss, we had originally called it Bukit Timah moss![]()
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

you forgot the [/img]
Most of it have turn brown. Have thrown the extra away and left those in the tank and will see how it will turn out.
Saw a patch of different type and decided to collect it. This look like the one that usually grow on side of a drain.
I have left some on a piece of rock and it will attached to it.
P/S: Thanks to Stan and Robert, finally managed to get the picture up..
