Yeah man, really need to find some time to get them. They need more cover. Currently monitoring their behaviour, so far no aggression between them, but they are super fierce towards my finger Now the pair can jump out of water to eat whenever I place food on my finger a few centimeters above the water

Yeah those are really gems. Have been sourcing for those for a really long time but I guess its just really hard to find those locally. Think there are lots of colour variation (see attached pictures taken from www.rva.jp/zukan/apisto/ap_nwe_pulchra.html and naturline.pt/novidades/2008_12_01_archive.html), but mine is totally colourless

I only want apisto, I think they see themselves as piranhas All the more I feel there's a need to get plants. Especially floaters. Don't want to wake up one day and see two dried piranhas on the floor

Mine looked like the first picture you attached, except that there was a blue metallic sheen in the dorsal. I'm sourcing and I think I may have sources, I'll get one pair for you if I find a good supply?

2nd try? How untimely. Poor male really got it left right centre. Removed him. Somehow the female is much much more protective this time round. Learnt her lesson? The picture shows her favorite stance these days. Like guarding gold

So cute! I think I want to go back into apisto breeding. It's such a joy to see a cloud of fry and mummy apisto guarding them

Haha this shot was taken just when mama was signaling the babies to move away from big monster with camera. I'm awaiting your return Yi Xiang

It sure is! Just fed them with some AP1 before this shot. Quite well-received by some

Time has changed. Holiday is no longer heading out to find a school holiday temp-job. But staying at home caring for your lovely fishes, nurturing it and get it ready to sell it at a good price when terms reopen

Thanks guys. The brood just had their first bbs meal this morning. Still seems a tad too big for some of them but so far so good, still managed to fill their stomachs. Mom's still super protective as usual.

Haha eh the not-searching-for-job part is supposed to be a secret! No la I'm dreading it because internships have already been planned for all my remaining holiday periods until I graduate in six semesters' time, so yeah, spending some quality time with my apistos now does seem like a pretty tempting suggestion to me. Thanks

Re: iwishweallcouldwin's Apistogramma sp. Wilhelmi "Purple Chin"

    Congrats on your brood! Wonderful!

Have Tetrabits or NLS pellets? Crush them until they become powdery and try feeding the fries with those.

A summer holiday without work really sounds very tempting.

Go do-it-yourself a fish rack and start importing some Wilds dude. Eight 1x1x1 feet on a 2feet x 4 rack housing 8 pairs will sound ideal to keep you busy.
