I'm electronically challanged...so got to ask this before I electrocute myself or burn down my house.

I have an ikea work lamp that stated that it can take up to 75W but the bulb that Ikea sold with it is only 11W energy saving kind. I was searching the net and found that they have various CFL (those spiral kind) lights from 25W up to 100W using the E26 base size.

My question is: can I replace the 11W bulb with a 50w bulb so long as it is the same base size and within the 75W limit?

Thinking of using it for my up coming terrarium project as I cannot find a decent wattage 1 feet light...

    Thanks!

    got myself this today

with no proper reflectors, it's not going to be really efficient...but no choice since I can't find a decent wattage 1 feet light.
