I know this isn't what you guys would call aquascaping... but it's my first time. I am still learning how to grow stuff on the wood etc.

What do you think I should do next - something that is not too difficult. Step by step something easy for me to learn ho ho ho.

    Hi myoe83,

Nice first tank! But i just feel that its a little bit plain, maybe add more plants? You can also try attaching mosses on the driftwood to give it a more natural look.
    Cheers!~

Thanks mate. I'm hoping to add more to it as well. Can moss grow on rocks as well? Or is it easier to just try on the wood?

What is your setup spec such as light wattage, fertilizer dosing, substrate and CO2 injection?

Yes, moss can grow on rocks and wood. One of the ways you can attach them is to place the moss on the rock and tie them with fine fishing lines. Just do a search on this forum or google and you should be able to get more information.

I'm a newbie myself but i will try to share with you whatever i have learnt! Feel free to ask more questions or you can PM me if you want to.

    Cheers!

If you do no want to switch to soil, you can just get low requirement plants like Java Ferns etc. which you can find easily in LFS and are usually tied on to a block of wood which you can just place in your tank without disturbing the substrate.

The granularity of your gravel too big. This will restrict your choice of plants.
For this color tone, you can get Lapis sand which is of the right size in LFS.

What is your lighting specs? For low light tanks my experience is "red" plants don't do well. They either turn green or die off.
