Can anyone recommend a 70W MH pendant? I know 70W Mh is not common but 150/250W is way too high for my needs.

    Thanks!

hi, currently I am running on a 70W for my marine tank and got it online, along with 4 x 24W T5 to supplement it.
previously i was running on 7x39W T5 but still miss the ripples effects of a MH, hence decided to change back to MH, however as i keep mainly fish only and some hardy LPS, guess it is should be sufficient.

I got it online at http://www.reefshops.com/

Thanks! But it seem that the only 70W is the clamp on kind which cannot fit my installation. I'm looking for a pendant kind of MH.

This is on the higher pricing side but the only pendant I could find, and you can't go wrong with Giesemann.

If you really want it that badly, you could always ask them to specially ship in for you.

sorry for the delay, will take some pics but need to get hold of my cam as it was left at in-laws last weekend.
actually i thought getting those plug-and-use but somehow, 70W is rarely available locally and after reading up on some online materials, there are very good and reasonably priced ones, well, shipment costs aside, i enjoy doing up some simple DIY work though.

    will post pic asap

pic on the MH ballast and the one is blue is the IceCap 660 ballast to provide for the T5s, actually an overkill but thought of upgrading towards the later part of the year!

all these are controlled by a DIY distributor box, mainly accessories are bought from Hager, good products and most expensive are actually the dual timers which i use for my lights.

have an electrician over sometime back to have a dedicated power source mainly for the tank only. Proven useful as one weekend the house's supply was tripped due to a faulty iron, but tank still ran as per normal!

Nice DIY. Too bad I dun have the hood...so I need to get a decent pendant that will look good on it's own. But I do agree that DIY will give you the satisfaction especially if the product is not readily available here.

Re: Recommend 70W Metal Halide Pendant

actually when i had my tank made, i also opted not to have any hood, however after a year, realised it was such a chore each time doing maintenance, i had to literally remove the 7x39W T5, hence, ultimately decided to DIY the lightings at the same time got YongHUa to do the hood for me.
was contemplating whether to have just a piece of wood or a proper hood to have the lights mounted, but since my boys are still young, afraid that from the long hours of staring into the lights/tank (they are short ma) will have certain implications though ....

chanced upon this gadget from Hager which allows me to see how much power has been consumed, kWh Meter, which is kinda interesting ....

You can get the spider reflector from online aquarium websites and used a 70k bulb.

On the other hand, i find sim lim square and sim lim tower carry lots of 70k watt MH. Its not meant for aquarium use, but i guess u can use it nevertheless.
