tonicwater, nothing compared to your collection.

    illumnae, come back come back~~~

marle, am using africana soil. Water treated with peat and adding in some ketapang leave.

Not too sure how big then the apisto. elizabethae considered as adult and how much further the finnage will developed. It appeared to me that it is still very small size and skinny.

    Re: Mobile2007's apisto. elizabethae

my elizabethae was approaching 3 inches and the finnage was still getting nicer. i'm already back. HOwever, my apistos are mostly in comm tanks. I only have a 1ft cube in office for a dedicated apisto tank. Currently housing a pair of Ap. diplotaenia "Novo Iron/Novo Airao". Considering selling them off to change to Ap. diplotaenia "Barcelos" (redder I think) or Ap. elizabethae or T. candidi

    Re: Mobile2007's apisto. elizabethae

Which locality your previous elizabethae came from? the pair that i got was farm bred and more like a generic version of ap.elizabethae.

Currently pumping them with the adult brine shrimp that i raised myself.

    Re: Mobile2007's Apistogramma elizabethae

Haha... my elizabethae has spawned. Saw 2 very weak fries resting on the java fern at the back corner of the tank. Strange that the female wasn't that yellowish in color.

Don't see many fries showing and seems to be weak, think most of them might not be able to make it this round.

    Re: Mobile2007's Apistogramma elizabethae

Yup, i knew that usually the first spawn will be few fries or weak fries.

The free swimming fries started to fall out of the java fern hideout 1 or 2 at the same time, the female very busy doing the transfer to another safe location. Now i can see more than 10 fries, definately more than what i observed earlier.

But she chose a location very open wow. the sparkling gourami might sneak in and take a quick snack.

    Re: Mobile2007's Apistogramma elizabethae

I got only 1 gourami and 1 otto inside this 2 ft tank. From what i see, the female is quite fierce and capable of guarding the fries. The male appears to be harmless ( though not helping) and staying in one corner avoiding the female. So i won't be removing the male and gourami.

Funny the female doesn't turn yellowish.
