You sure it is a UV light? Or is it black light / colored tubes?
From my understanding full spectrum UV light would kill everything (eventually) that gets exposed to it.
Hi Friends,
One of my Friend here in India has the following lights for his frontosa tank -
The light fixture is one T8 6500K and one T12 UV tube.
Just wanted to request you friends to kindly guide me on the above lights -
1. T8 6500K - is this the Normal White Colored Light ?
2. T12 UV Tube - Is it safe to expose the Fish to Direct UV Light or is this something else?
Actually his fronts (burundis) look so beautiful in this lighting - they're so blue - Kindly have a look at this pic of his fronts -
So can I use a UV light too ? Kindly guide me on this friends...
Thanks and Regards
Kush

UV light not good for human eyes too. You need to wear uv tinted glass to prevent damage to the eyes.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
