Change IC address and how it look like

I'm wonder is it the same like last time you change your IC address by just paste a piece of white paper of your new address on to your IC or they already improve it by something better and new cause I'm going to change my IC address too.
I find that the previous system can be done by anyone,why we need to go all the way to ICA.They will type it out ,paste a sticker on your IC...that it

you can change your address at any neighbor police post as well. I changed mine 4 years ago and the "address" has moved :P

yes, change at any neighbourhood police post, no need to go to ICA.

should still be a sticker "overwriting" your old address (maybe a nicer looking sticker now? ), that's why they can do it on the spot for you. did it three years ago though.

The computer system are all link up, update done at the neighbourhood poice post will be captured in the common database for all government ministry.

I was responding to the comment that anyone can just fake the paper and paste it on the card. Of course doing it at the police post means it gets into the ICA database.

If done at the police post or ICA, they will inform the rest of the agencies too.

i just had my address changed in January at a NPP. They will ask you to sign a form notifying all relevant govt agencies of the address change. They then pasted the sticker over my old address.

Within a few days, I got a notice from a few different govt agencies informing me that the address change is reflected in their databases
