    Nature Aquarium & Colourful

    1) Zi Char Stall at the same block of NA.

    Dishes tried:

    -Shrimp paste fried chicken
(They call it the 'Har Cheong Kai', this dish really not bad, the skin is fried to golden brown and extremely extremely crispy. A bite down, you will hear the 'crak crak crak' sound and the juiciness of the chicken will ooze and drip into your mouth and plate. The downside is that it leaves one with a sweet after taste and the usual oilyness. Recommended.)

    - Sweet and sour fish rice :
(Ate it as a one person share, HUGE plate i will say. You know those that come in oval plates? Six bucks though. Extremely generous portions of fish and sauce. Very tempting to eat especially when you are feeling hungry, a definite stomach filler. The fish come in huge slices and can be smaller. Can feel the crisp of the skin when you bite in so i will consider this dish to have quality. The sauce, an important ingredient, might be a tad overly thick and might get you 'jelat' when you are 3/4 full.)

    2) Bah Kut Teh 'Pork Soup' Coffee Shop (Located at balestier road off bhamo road'might be wrong about exact location')

    Dishes tried (Almost everything!):

    -Bak kut teh
(With regards to this stall, when you go there, you must go like this. Uncle, bah kut teh, you ji(Whats it in english?), ti kar(pig trotters), you zar gueh(fried dough), giam cai 'salted vegetables' and the list goes on.. Though not the very best in Singapore for bah kut teh, this stall imho is up there at the top for its speciality. The bah kut teh soup is simply delicious, tasty and peppery leaving you drinking one scoop after another. The meat is tender and in bite sized proportions. Deeping the fried dough inside the soup renders you clueless as to how good the fried dough can taste. The soup is 7th heaven . Oh, accompany it with their home made iced barley too.) *i might be a little bias here because i really like bah kut teh myself!

    3) Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice (Located next to the bak kut teh stall mentioned above)

    Dishes tried:

    -Chicken Rice
(The most memorable thing about it, is sadly how the rice is being served. The rice is arranged in a pyramid shaped when served. Will say the chicken rice is better than normal chicken rice. Chicken is fresh and smooth and the rice is fragrant. The chilli deep for it is great, hot and spicy, the way most Singaporeans like them. The dish is justified by its price, weighing a little more on the pricey side. The place is air conditioned, if you wanna talk about ambience, maybe a little more here.)

Till next time more on NA, Colourful, C328, Biotope. Everyone share! Good Sunday everyone!

    1) Zi Char Stall at the same block of NA.

    Dishes tried:

    - Beef Hor Fun
Think this is one of their signature dish as many people go there and order this with side dish. The single person portion is quite good, with a generous serving of beef stripes that are tender and juicy. This dish can be served in a very short notice, so for anyone rushing for time, just order this dish and they will help you jump the long queue...

    C328

    Srisun Prata
I love the masala thosai from this Indian Food store at the coffee shop at Blk 325. This is the coffee shop at the end of the block nearer to Blk 328. The Masala thosai, especially is a big serving and very well-spiced and prepared. The curries and dips are all unique and enhance the dish. I eat this almost every time I go to C328.

    Wu Hu Aquarium

Wu Hu Aquarium is just next to Tiong Bahru market, and I'm sure everyone knows some great stalls at this stalwart among Singapore's hawker centres. The following are my personal favourites:

    178 Shark Lor Mee
There are several Lor Mee stalls at Tiong Bahru market. Personally, I like this the best. It has deep fried nuggets of shark meat on top of a very well-balanced sauce. By any standards, it is a very good lor mee.

    Teck Seng Soybean Milk
There is a very good soybean milk & curd (dou hua) stall. I can't remember it's name. It is run by a single couple and they sell only soybean. They usually sell out before 12nn. Look for the store with the longest queue!

    Tian Tian Yuan Dessert Stall
I've tried their chendol twice which strikes me as being better and richer than the one you usually get. It has loads of gula melaka and coconut milk, and topped with the usual chendol jelly, corn and red beans. You can order it in a cup, which I prefer, so it's a bit like a drink. I'm sure their other desserts are great too.

Chao Zhou Yu Zhou (Teochew Fish Porridge written in Chinese)
The fish porridge is outstanding: good stock, fresh fish and firm rice grains. Of course, you might not want to eat it on a hot day because it's served almost boiling hot.

Others with good food in Tiong Bahru market to recommend please do so!

Oh yes. The Shark Lor Mee at Tiong Bahru market is 'friggin' good. 2 bowls at least.

    Nature Aquarium & Colourful

    1) Nihon Mura @ Revenue House (Across Novena Square)

Go there to eat their sushi at 99cents per plate. If you like salmon sushi, this is extremely worth it. Despite offering a conveyor-belt sushi, the peeve is that none of the tables are located next to it; hence you have to walk over to help yourself to the sushi. The restaurant also comprises of various sections including: Grills, Tempura, and Noodles, other than the Sushi. All the other dishes are represented in placards placed in front of the stations, beside a batch of ice lolly sticks etched with the name of the dish.

Interestingly, to order, you collect the sticks of the dishes you want and hand them to a waiter with your table number, or simply drop these lolly sticks into a cup placed at your tables, and the waiter will collect it and take order.

Overall conclusion: Foodwise, don't expect really quality stuff, but considering the pricing especially for the sushi, it passes off well. 'Buey pai'(Singlish:not bad).

(P.S: Go ahead, deep the sushi in the sauce.)
