4 weeks ago I bought the Yellow Cheeks ( 11 ).....the survived the quarantine period and are doing well......

    Friday, 2-days ago I bought some other species...Harlequin (10 ), Red Orchid (12 ) and
Blue dot red line (10)...........and some plants from the Sulawesi area....

    Mini red cherry water plant

    Sulawesi moss

    Towuti moss

And this is my second tank I call it the Aqua65 Sulawesi, it need another 2 weeks before I add some sulawesi shrimps in it...

Thanks for the beautiful photos. You have a great collection there. First time I've seen a Berried Orchid. Nice

Would be great if you could show pictures of your Blue Dot Red Line and Yellow Cheeks

    Hey Chung,

May you share you water parameter? Are all the different species in 1 tank? What type of light output are you giving the plants? I have heard that they need high light and for the moss lower temp about 78F...Thanks Henry

Hey what are you currently feeding your yellow cheeks? I have cardinals and yellow cheeks as well but the yellow cheeks seems not interested in anything. My cardinals are in better off condition as I can see that the prego females already released some of her babies....

    hey,

No problem, my yellow cheeks eat the same as the cardinals....sera shrimp pallets....

from all species the harlequine are and is the most vulnerable under the sulawesis.......I bought last friday 10 of these but now 6 left....

the other species are fine ........cardinal, yellow cheek, red orchid and the red line....

As I said no feedingproblem....when I drop some of the pallets ( not more than 2 or 3 pallets in 3 days ) in my tank....in the first who gets the pallet first is the cardinal the yellow cheek will join as second, third is red orchid and than the red line....the harlequine will join as the last one....

And a Update..... some sulawesis are moved to another tank.....I couldn't wait.....so here some pictures..

    Cardinal...

    Yellow cheeks...

    Red Orchid.....

    Dinner...

Oh I see thanks. So how do you maintain your pH if your substrate is inert?

I don't understand the meaning "inert"......,

I do waterchange( 10 days) and as you see....no leaves and no wood.....and still my PH is 7.6

Haha it seems that the water that comes out of your tap is quite hard then. Most people here use coral chips as substrate to achieve pH 8 which is what the Sulawesi shrimps supposedly require, not only to thrive but to breed. You may want to try increasing your pH to see if the Harlequins would fare better

Having said that Harlequins are notoriusly fragile. The fact that you're able to breed any Sulawesi shrimp at all is an amazing feat in itself

Yes, the water out my tap is already 7,6....about the Harlequins....ive heard that they need freshwater sponge...to survive........hard to become one...but the lfs store said to try to get some over from Indonesia.

Yes I hear they need the freshwater sponge. I was told by the lfs guy that live sponge may not be neccessary and that dead sponge (coral) will do. They sell the coral here in Singapore
