They usually come free with plants. Or just take some fo aquarists staying near your place and they'll propogate in no time.
Cheers,

Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Is it the long cylindrical one with a tapering spiral?? My 6.5 gallon seems infested with that... Been trying to get rid of it for almost forever..
Mebbe when I get the time, I'll remove them one by one and pass some to you....

by puffer? but puffer only goes for small ones, leaving the bigger ones alone
clown loach, not puffer, and something else.
they are good at loosening the substrate of plants. and do not provide too much harm to the plants.
must refer to my notes liaoz haha
and with snail look more natural mah
other than fish and plants nia.
jazzben, just a side note.. snail are said to be parasite carriers
Getting snail eaters might juz erradicate your snail population, rather than controlling it. Before you know it, you'll be back here asking if there is anymore MTS available.
hmmm i would quarantine the snails for few weeks lor.
of coz the snail control unit would be in the ratio of 1:10 lor...
any more comments?
errr I don't think you can talk about ratio rite? it's like putting a kid into a shop full of ice cream, he ain't gonna listen to you that its 10 tubs to a kid ONLY. anyhow I think its pointless to add MTS if you want the snails to be there to look natural cuz MTS only come out in the dark, during daytime they burrow deep so you won't see them anyway! if you want natural and obvious go get apple snails, lol!
Well....
I've heard of this guy who got a fresh puffer and threw it into a tank full of about 70pcs of snails (est.) and all were wiped out in like an hour or two....

MTS is good for those who hate to see snails but want something to munch on the algae... because you almost never get to see them. When the lights turn on, the snails disappear into the substrate. They do their jpd quietly behind the scene.
I am not sure whether puffers are effective agains MTS. They have tougher shells than other snails. They hide themselves during day time when the puffers are active.

Just a curious note;, what if the puffer really wipe out all the snails so what other food source can he take??
I remember I once had a very skinny puffer because it doesn't take any other fish food I thrown into the tank.
Eventually, it died from hunger.
I would like to keep a puffer again because it is quite amusing to watch this type of fish but is afraid to see it die from hunger.
Puffers take primarily live food. Some may go for frozen worms.
Others go for fish fins.![]()

mts are good for planted tanks. i used to have quite a lot until i introduced some ghost shrimps for my daughter to see. they eradicated my population of mts.
