Haha.. I didn't separate the CRS from the RCS. I separated the sakuras from the cherries because I didnt want them to mix. I am trying to get consistently redder sakuras. My CRS are with the sakuras right now. Perhaps I may get some tiger shrimps or bee shrimps to put with the cherries.. Hmmm..

haha tigers OR bees. Which one you guys think nicer? I am more inclined towards tigers. I saw pictures of deep blue tigers i wonder whether it is available anywhere here..

Haha about the sakuras don't worry I can easily differentiate a mature male from a female. And only the reddest of males can get lucky with my red sakuras lol.

well i guess you have to share the genes with somebody. Constant inbreeding will provide weak strain as well. Would it?

Is the moss carpet you harvest back still growing?

benkho: Yes I agree on that. I hope I do not face that problem because I do buy sakuras in packs of 5 once in a while to add to the population. But I do not buy males because I have plenty of them. Yesterday i counted and I think my male to female ratio is probably 2:1. I think having more females than males is a more effective breeding method right? Anybody wanna trade some of your female sakuras for males?

insider: the moss carpet does not seem to be growing, it just seems to be surviving. I think if it doesn't survive in the long run, I will remove it and replace with fissiden carpet.. Anybody care to share any experience with using these 'moss carpets' in your tank?

    interesting concept!

Any problem with the filtering or the water circulation?
I think larger debris will be caught on once side of the netting on the center divider. you may have to clear them often, but then again shrimps are not heavy poppers anyway.

any dead spot in the circulation?

i keep tigers with my sakuras.

beautiful CRS you have there. love the "get set" pictures you have there, so cute!

umm... i think shrimps are heavy poopers. poops can drag a mile long (relative to their size ....)

I think the filtering should be fine. Debris do get stuck at the netting on the partition and i occasionally have to flick the netting to remove the dirt.

I think filtration and circulation should be ok, my rationale being that both sides have inlets that suck out water and debris (one from eheim 2211 and the other from pump to chiller) The outlet from the pump aims at the other side so 'dirty water' from the right side goes to the left side via the chiller route, and then can be filtered by the eheim 2211.

I think should be grade A+/-. Whats your opinion? I am not quite experienced with grading. I heard from the guy who sold me the chiller (I think he's a friend of yours) that you breed high grade crs.

About a week old in the right side of my aquarium, as encouraged by beetroot, I got 10 of them. Nice clear black stripes on them..
