hi bros, just wish to share my newly setup Sakura Shrimp Tank in my Goldfish Pond. Trial and error on the hangon filter (modified) and now it works perfectly fine. The temp of the tank is now the same as the temp of the pond at about 26.5 degree. Hope the setup will bring more good news.

hi Xianghao, the HOF motor is the same as a normal power head which can be used in water. By the way, I have drilled 4 small holes at the filter compartment for the chilled water to flow into the tank. That is how I get the temp of tank = temp of pond. Everything was trial and error till I get a good balance on the water flowing in and out of the tank.

Interesting concept... maybe a larger glass tank will get more focus.

In fact, I have prepare a 2Ft tank but I broke the top portion of the tank while trying to drill a hole by myself. So give up the idea and use a small 1ft tank instead. At least have plenty space for my Ranchu to move around. Thanks Jervis.

Looks unique . Ever thought of putting spotlights by the sides of the pond to focus on the shrimp tank( something like how they shine the stage lights on a particular object/person etc ).

Very cool, very unique aswell like said above. Very cool that you have an in-door fish pond aswell. Would look sweet with some live plants.

Fingerling - thanks for the comment. I have 2 spotlights (25W X2). I have yet to decide to put it anot as they consume quite high electricity and also give out heat. Maybe I will try and put up some picture after the setup again.

BenBomb - Thanks bro. In fact my first time on pond. I got bored with Tankssssss. And I think Ranchu fit better in pond. As for plant, any recommendation ?? I do not intend to put in any soil as the Ranchu shitttttt alot. So must be simple.

Re: Sakura Shrimp Tank Setup in a Pond

    Very innovative!
IMHO, can consider adding some rocks / woods (can tie some mosses - make full use of chilled water ) at the HOF outlet to create a mini waterfall to the main pond, should turn out quite nice.
This can also minimise the sound of splashing water.
Oh no, this is poisonous.... tempted to try one myself

Re: Sakura Shrimp Tank Setup in a Pond

    Fireblade - thanks.

Feide - IMHO I have made some changes as I have bought a DW with nana and moss. will upload pics soon. For HOF outlet I have placed some wool to reduce the noise. since it is facing inward, so will not give too much attention. thought of changing the blue HOF to black. Blue too out standing liao. I just have this thought of putting in the pond cos of the chilled water. I have setup another CRS tank for my son too.
