    Hi,
I would like to share the setup of my indoor pond, concept quite similar to Benkam88's goldfish pond. Used to keep ranchu in it but few months ago converted into a planted pond which house spare plants and fishes left over from my other tank.

    Here is the idea:

    The outcome:

As I am staying in a flat with limited space, at first it seem quite impossible to house a 5ft pond with another 5ft tank in my hall... but.. there is a will, there is a way. Managed to convince my CO (wife) to buy the idea of replacing the TV rack with this pond. The TV rack, with most of the AV equipment were relocated behind the wall in my study room. A hole was drilled through the wall for the cablings.

All plants in the water are real, those out of water are fake

Aquatic plants are mainly nana and java fern.. not going high tech for this setup.

Who said you can't watch TV and look at your tank at the same time ?

    Close up on the mini-tank:

Most of the fish and shrimps in the tank manage to escape to the pond through the water fall. Think they are happier in the pond, I am fine with the plant only tank. So, no further catching..

    View from another angle:

Hope you enjoy it All comments are welcome!

    cheers!

hi bro, similar concept as my tank in the pond. I used modified HOF for the tank so the water in the tank will not leak to the pond. I need the cold temp in the tank for my shrimp. you can see this thread http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=55489

Hi Andre, Monstar, Might reds, Aqua
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I enjoy viewing the tank while watching some of the TV programs. Like F1 racing, watching the cars lap by lap without overtaking can be quite boring :P

Yes, after reading your posts, I decided to share mine as well. Setup had be with me for months. So far no regret. Maintenance is minimum. My boy like the deco ducks, my wife like the flowers and I like the mini tank. Everyone is happy

That was the primary concern when the pond was set up together with the TV two years ago. Up to now the TV has been working fine (touch wood touch wood ). There isn't much splashing water, so hopefully formation of water vapor is minimized.

All algae crews escaped to the pond, including the snails!! haha. Anyway, the 11W lamp only turn on 4-5hr per day, no much algae issue.
These open bottom tanks are amazing!! Thanks for the link.

TKS7011, your setup is nearly similar to the Zero Edge tank concept in the US used by marine enthusiast. An upgrade should be in the work. Nice to see something different once in a while.
