    Hey everyone,

Anybody using Oceanfree Algae Remover? The uncle from C328 intro it to me. It seems like just a chemical that reduces the "food" of algae (Phosphate and Nitrate). From what I see, its quite safe. At least my yamatos, plants and fishes are in one piece. But it doesn't look very effective to me. Anybody using a more effective algaecide? Haha, but more effective means more deadly.. to plants and inverts. Very contradicting.
    Regards,

    Re: Algae Remover

When i just started on this hobby, i used ista algae remover, good against hair and thread algae bt can tell tat my plants really suffered T_T. Had since stopped using any of these algaecide. As long as ur plants are dense and in good shape, algae will stay away =D

I never trust in algae removers. You need to identify the type of algae (BBA, GSA, BGA, etc) present first. There's plenty of posted thread on combating algae. Search around.

Hey robin, thanks for the reply. Are you dosing according to the recommended dosage or otherwise?

    hi mildnomsed
to be honest i never measure my dosage at all, just dose to my heart content but pls do not follow my style as your tank water premeter might not be the same as mine i would strongly recommend that you dose according or slightly above the recommended volume.

    hi madnugget
as mention in my post i do not have any algae issue in my 3 footer since day 1 when i start it. really can't tell you weather it will remove all kind of algae or only to certain algae

    spec of my tank
    monday to saturday
    1: 2 x 39watts t5 from 5.00pm to 10.00pm
    2: 4 x 39watts t5 from 7.00pm to 11.00pm

sunday and public holiday manually turn on 4 x 39watts t5 from 9.00am to 11.00pm

    co2 dosage approx 7 to 8 bps
tank water temp around 25.5c to 27c,as i'm using a mini fridge to cool my tank water

    water change around 30% bi-monthly

ph, water hardness etc. never measure ( don't have any test kits at all )

btw this is only my humble introduction of my tank and not a good guideline and will not be responsible for any lost of plant and live stock to any bro who want to try out my stlye
