oh man, i was about to go down to petmart ... so far, these are the only 2 places that sell them (indicated by the forumers here) ...
Went to Petmart, but they are out of stock. Aquamart did not have stock last week and it does not look like they are going to get any soon.
Anybody knows which other LFSes carry Seachem Flourite?
Thanks.

Eaquanature local online store, they do delivery for purchase above $100
Thanks Addie, Simon.

Chris, who quoted you $55? Petmart?
Anyway, just checked out some of the prices of eAquaNature;

- Flourish range at 100ml, 500ml, 2l, 4l, 20l.
- Equilibrium at 3.2kg, 4.8kg and 24 kg, but it's the old formula listed on the webby)

yes. pet mart did. (in december), maybe gulf war crisis drop prices. heh
Ok, emailed Seachem which got Eric Quak of Eralco, the local distributor, to contact me yesterday. Eric was quite nice, I called him in the morning and he restocked Petmart in the same afternoon so I can go back there to get it (Eralco doesn't do retail).
I asked him which shop stocks Flourite and he didn't know of the top of his head, but seems like the 2 I went to are the 2 bigger retailers.

Vinz, do you have any idea if they have Oynx Sand?
I kinda prefer the black colouring over the flourite.

BC,
Yes, Eric dropped of a few packs of Onyx Sand too. 2 on shelves (or rather, floor) when I left last night but there might be more in their store room.

My tank is comprised of like
22kg of lonestar + 5 bags of fluorite red (35kg)
1 bag of fluorite (7kg) and 1 bag of onyx sand (7kg)
= 49 + 22 = 71kg of substrate.
my substrate layer is 3.5 inches high..
think how much washing I did.. heh
--
I don't really recommend onyx sand, when washing it, it has a consistency more like sludge/porridge/slurry, really fine. heh
I add ground peat to the onyx to counter the KH rise. Whenthe peat wears out, so does the onyx's effects on the KH.
I use about a handful per sq 25cm of tank bottom. I also add fresh detritus from a vacuumed tank(the mulm that settles on the bottom of the bucket)at a liter of decanted mulm per sq 25cm.
This jump starts any tank. The same procedure is applied to a the flourite/sand/laterite etc tanks.

Tom Barr
