    Hi,

I would like to introduce some foreground plants and prefer those that do not grow too long <3 inches.

Can someone recommend me some relevant plants and what is the cost like?

    Thanks.

    Re: Foreground carpet plant

i personally like my HC lawn.. they are cheap and easy to plant, but requires a fair amount of lighting and CO2.. but once established, they grow and spread really fast.. less than 1 month, my foreground is covered by my HC..

they come in cheap packets, of a few dollars a big piece.. can get from C328, Y618 or most LFS actually..

HC = Hemianthus callitrichoides (You may key in these words and search in yahoo).

Other low foreground plant, you may try dwarf hairgrass.

Actually emerse also can, as long as you give them light, co2 and time to settle down to submerge.

most of the plant sell at local fish shop is grow emerse, means only the root under the water. Normally when you plant they will adapt to new submerse condition and start shedding old leaf.

    Re: Foreground carpet plant

    Thanks for the clarifcation.

Any other suggestion for a easy maintenance carpet plant? I do not mind slow growing as I will probably spend a bit and plant them around, so long as I do not have to trim too much and they do not need a lot of CO2/light.

    Cheers

You can try Echinodorus tenellus. Easy for beginners.

My tank size is 3feet long now have some java fern and moss on DW with 4 zebra danios, 14 neon/cardinal tetras and 20 shrimps.

Equipment wise, I have an external filter with rain bar and 2 small hang-on filter with 'waterfall' flow back.

This is my first tank so beginner status/knowledge.

don't use the hang-on filters, bro, it'll cause more CO2 loss with the waterfal

    HI,

Went around my LFS and couldn't find any Echinodorus tenellus or hair grass. Where can I find these plants or which LFS have a good stock of plants?

    Thanks

Thanks for the recommendation Jimmy, visited Y618, nice stocked up shop. I usually go to Aqua Star, now will probably visit Y618 more. The uncle there is very knowledgeable and provided good advice and more friendly.
