Mike, you should go and find out if a electronic one is better or the conventional ones are better.

I have a electronic one and the settings are easy. But I am not too sure why sometimes, the timer itself got resetted by itself and I will have to set it back.

Anyone here are using an electronic ones which doesn't gives you problem? At least mine did...[]

mike I wouldn't reccomend leaving slow dissolving fish food, the probability of it polluting your water is higher than that if you leave the fish alone and it starves to death. your fish may peck at the food causing it to disintegrate early?

seriously, health fish will suffer no harm from no feeding for 2-3 weeks. Just feed them well just before you leave and let them work on the algae while you are gone.
