Wooden Board For Tank Stand

Where can get 2feet by 1feet wooden board for the tank stand? Buy from hardware shop and cut? Do i need or just use the styrofoam instead.

styrofoam is a better choice as water and wood don't mix with each other well. you can just buy the styrofoam from any LFS.

I'm scared that styrofoam alone not strong enough as my new tank maybe only contact the 2 hortizontal bars on the metal stand.

Don't worry... the purpose of the styrofoam is not to 'support' the tank but rather to cushion the contact between the stand and the tank. (glass is brittle and can crack if supported on uneven surfaces).

Oh on second reading of your post.... is your tank sitting on all four sides of the stand or on just two bars? If 2 bars only than its not advisable.

I am not an expert, but if you do not mind some DIY, you can buy a plank of wood from HOMEFIX DIY and just saw it a bit to your required dimensions

try checking industrial parks for wood workshops.
some may offer cut-to-size sales.
else you can try some wood suppliers in sungei kadut.

There's a shop that sells wooden boards at the junction of jalan berseh and plumber road (off jalan besar road, behind new world centre).
