Do you have picture of your tank? What's the equipment (e.g Light) set up like? What type of filtration or water flow do you have?
Also, how often do you change water?
Cheers,
Hi,
I had not had much luck with plants.... they did not die horribly but would not flourish. dies and revive....
I guess it must be the temperature of the water i have.... Seems to suit cories, tetras, platy and zebra danios. Temp running about 30oC. Even 4 cheries are suviving in it too.
Any recomendations? I think fish spawning also due to temperature. that is why eggs are laid but no babies....
Regards,
Anthony

Tank size 5 G

Hi,
how about adding a fan to help cool down the waters? The warm temperature of Singapore nowadays is making it very hard to keep most aquatic plants happy.
Cheers!
Teah i guess it is the temperature.... that is giving me grieve... did not dare to try more exotic plants. only java moss and ferns and also the spiky moss (given to me free from a fellow forumer). Oh forgetr to add, NANAs are growing exceptionally well!! spawning new leaves.... i think maybe i should move to nanas only
Hair grass seems to be okie in my 30/31 degree tank. I have got no fan to cool it down.
The role of master and servant begin to cloud in the water..
Anubias Nana is almost bulletproof. I have some that survived a year at 29C - 31C in a 3 foot tank.
I've since transferred them into a tank with cooler temps, and they are still doing well also.
I have a tank getting direct sunlight in the morning till noon, range from 30'c to 32'c. Glosso, narrow leaf java fern, e.tennellus, MM & some stem plants growing fine.
Hi for those who replied that their plants are doing well.... do you have substrates i only have gravel rocks.... Do i need to buy some special substrate if i got planted enviroment? or i need to put in some trace elements? like flourish?
Hmmm...
Is there any form of CO2 injection? Seachem Excel?
Seems like the best bet of plants to grow in my environment is nanas, Glosso and narrow leaf java fern and maybe hair grass.
For high Temp tank, you could try the following types of plants,
Echinodorous Species
Vallisneria
Tiger Lotus
Alternanthera reinecki
Hygrophillia
All the above are recommended plants in Big Dennerle's guide
