Ya remember from the cartoons the green construction machines that can combine. Always wanted to get them, a complete set but my parents only allow me to get one. Haiz.

So the green construction machines are now the colourful construction machines in the movies?

    recently watched two good movies:

    Mel Gibson's Apocalypto http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472043/

and The Hurt Locker http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0887912/ (must watch if you were a Combat Engineer or did demolitions).

Watched Harry Potter lately, and am quite dissapointed how much scenes were actually taken away from the real book. Then again, its a pretty good movie to take your mind off things.

not movies, but if you can catch the BBC documentaries South Pacific, and Planet Earth, in HD format, the visuals are awesome.

It's transformers for me. I grew up loving transformers, so the movies were a must watch for me. I don't really like how they changed the looks of most of the transformers (I, too, remember the green constructicons very fondly...and bumblebee should NOT be a chevvy!), but it's still good to see my childhood favourite cartoon on the big screen with super effects.

Of course Megan Fox in the movie doesn't hurt

Personally, i think Star Trek has impressed me the most so far...

As for Transformers, it will come in a close 2nd as i was alittle bit disappointed. i do agree with some critics that it is messy & the first one is much better. But then again, Megan Fox makes a big difference

Taken is one of the underrated good show of 2009.

    Now im waiting for G.I.Joe!!!

Im waiting for SAW 6 to be shown in SG. Do catch this movie series if you enjoy suspense and gore. The texas chainsaw massacre and the texas chainsaw massacre ( the beginning ), art of the devil ( in thai ) are some of the movies that are also worth watching.

Does synthesizing high explosives during your free time while studying a MSc count as "demolitions"? I will keep an eye open for The Hurt Locker at the local DVD rental. In the mean time I'm with zpleco, Star Trek rocked. I saw it twice on the big screen and enjoyed it even more the 2nd time round. I'm also looking forward to G.I. Joe. Hopefully there will be explosions

My girlfriend and I just recently watched the whole of [/i]Damages[/i] (Season 1). That series is a work of art! Spectacular directing and writing and brilliant acting.

Of course I did. The Prof wasn't very happy.

28 Weeks later is more a Gore/Thriller. If you want horrow watch Rosemary's Baby. I get shivers just thinking of her cuddling that "baby". Touching the Void was also pretty horrible...For me a "horror" must leave you with a sense of horror not fear or being grossed out. A Horror is subtle. The movie Blindness is one of those movies. There were scenes which filled me with horror (much like the South African prime time news). (I really don't suggest you watch this movie. It was horrible in another sense too...)

I watched There is a Girl in my Soup last night. I hadn't watched this one by Peter Sellers and found it very entertaining. It illustrates the difference between movies then and now. It was slow and subtle with a strong story and dialog. A very enjoyable movie. I enjoyed Wolverine too but if it had slowed down for even a second I bet I would have fallen asleep.
