Recently I'm starting to have the same problem too. Wanted to try using peat to lower the GH but seems like the PH will go lower as well. Hmm..
I'm experiencing high Gh values >14d using jbl test strips while the ph part shows that is below 6, last measured ph is 5.6.
anyone can advise if the Gh values are normal due to the buffering to keep the ph level stable? I do not have any soft stone, lime stone or coral chips in my filter or tank.
Many thanks.
The role of master and servant begin to cloud in the water..

Do water changes.
Maybe you did not do WC.
Or add too much minerals.
Water change seem like the best way to reduce it.
Use water softener. Mostly comes in small soild pea which are widely available in most LFS. Put it into your canister. It can bring down the hardness of the water etc KH and GH but doesn't effect on PH. There must be something you have added, Singapore water doesn't have so high GH.
