    Hi all,
this is my 1st time trying to do a aquascape. Thought of starting a journal to get some of the pros opinion.Really new to this so hope to get some suggestions as i go along scaping my tank!!!!Comments highly welcomed!

Also special thanks to Ben from Mizuworld for the really nice DW and rocks.Really nice rocks in my opinion! Thanks!

The tank:2nd hand tank...with bracing(will use oyama to cover it up)

    The hardware:

    The hardscape:

The final product so far: I am thinking that the right side does not have enough volume?maybe another DW to give it some height?

    Some ideas i am considering:

I am trying to give it a feel of the rapids but not very sure how to go about it some help?
    Ok shoot me!

Maybe you could have put in a separator between the soil and the fine sand to prevent the fine sand from getting less dirty

Thats a pretty good interpretation of your intended picture though!

great try for a first try Keep it up^^ you might want to make the drift wood more prominent though.. otherwise, it might get covered unless you're going with low growing plants

    Good start!
Agree with Casablanca, you should find some ways to block the sand from the soil. Get messy once they are mixed. Maybe you can use more rocks to form the separator?

Nice set up bro. Remember to fill the tank with water gently. Don't commit the same mistake as me. LOL.

I made a mess in my first filling up. Thanks for the advice from members of AQ, I used a tupperware bowl to regulate the flow. It works perfectly!

Try it. Waiting for your next update. Cheers.

need more rock to separate the Aquasoil and sirui sand. Don't be afraid to use bigger rock. You might want to re consider the wood placement. It will be hidden by vegetation in no time. Don't fill in the water until you got the hardscape right.

By the way, what is the tank dimension?

But when you say add a seperator do you mean adding rocks next to the 'river'?cause i tried it our and felt my arrangement was more of random placement of rocks and became very messy.

For the DW i might be getting 1 or 2 more single branch to give the centre some height

    Anyway the dimensions are 3"x1.5x1.5
Will update when i make the changes

    Re: 3Ft maiden scape

you can line up more small rocks along the edges of the sand where the aquasoil and the sand meets. This is to prevent the soil to spill on the sand if the filter current is too strong or when the fishes and shrimps disturb the soil.
