Help in 2211 priming

First time using Eheim 2211, can bros tell me how to prime it? I read the booklet by sucking one of the hose but I not to sure which to

suck the outflow pipe, the one on top, just enough until water drop from the tank to the filter.

what i do for my 2213 is to make sure both tubes and cannister filled with water ...put both ends into tank and switch on the filter....initally may have some air space but it'll sort itself out after a while

water yes but not air, basically you have to wait until the canister full of water before turn on the motor.

i used a powerhead to intialise the process

after which i turned on the power for the filter

BTW i am using 2217 so the logic should be the same

Like bro shadow was saying, simply remove the return hose from water output connector of canister and suck the connector to start the water flowing in. Get ready with hose and prepare for the water top after a short wait.

Guys, if you have a priming problem with the canister filter, use the Eheim Installation set 1 to overcome this problem. It's unhygienic to use your mouth.

This is the non tank water drinking method

Fill the filter and the pipes up with as much water as you can.

Start the pump.

Put the pump on it's side.

When you see water coming out of the rainbar, slowly tilt it upright, keep it at a 45 degree angle for a while first.

Continue to slowly tilt it upright until all the air is expelled from the filter.

Give it a go, it works pretty well, I do it even for the bigger filters.

i use my mouth to input water into the cannister instead of sucking water from it.. works pretty well this way too...

After reading all the posts about priming the canister filter, I was expecting a hard time doing it. However, when I prime my 2213, it only takes 10 seconds. Just disconnect the output tube from the rain bar and suck real hard. Water will slowly flow down and fill up the filter. Connect to rain bar and switch on the pump after water have filled the output tube.

hi Jimmy, i used a small powerhead...
what i do is i take out the intake strainer of the inlet pipe first
n then point my powerhead at the inlet pipe n turn on the powerhead..
switch on the ext. filter at the same time

That's my way too as mentioned . Some suggested using hand pump (like those manual gravel cleaner or kerosene hand pump)
