gosh so beautiful wish to get my hands on them
Hi guys, here's a latest categorization of black king kong graded by some
breeders in TW.
A pleasure to share to you all, enjoy the pictures and cheers!
1)Excellent Manifestation <BLACK DIAMOND>
Description:Whole black body with the max. of 4 white dots on tail or less.
2)Superior Manifestation <SINGLE STRIPE>
Description: Only a single white line is shown on the top of the body.
3)Second-Class Manifestation <DOUBLE STRIPES OR MULTI STRIPES>
Description: Two or more white lines are shown on the top of the body.
4)General Manifestation <BLACK PANDA>
Description: With two, three or four wider white bands round the body.
Conclusion and Personal Opinion﹕
Regardless of the standard of grading between them, one believes that the intensity of the coloration on individual body and feet is the major consideration.

Hi Zip,
nice pics! Can you please discribe more detailed who exactly has definded those grades? The first 4 grades I have ever read anywhere have been: Panda, King Kong, Ruby Red and Wine Red.
Why are taiwanese breeder now developp differning grades?
IMHO International grades would be helpful since these shrimps are sold internationally.

Hi zip, may I know the scientific name of this shrimp species?
To Imke,
Panda, King Kong, Ruby Red and Wine Red> These are the grading for the last year, and they are in different lines now.
Most breeders now in TW seperated the black and red wine mutation crs into different tanks to breed individually.
I'm just refering to the Black alone, and this categorization only applied in Taiwan but not to oversea yet, so for a kind advice, if you'll looking for Black king Kong, would rather prefer to take the whole black ones than the ones with stripes.
Why are taiwanese breeder now developp differning grades?
The mutation of king kong are not easy to breed those which have whole black body, and the stripes ones are seem to be easier to breed.
People here are not doing different grading, but are classifying the Black mutation crs into a more precise and specific level of strain.

Hi Zip,
thanks for the explanation and advise. It's interesting that black and red ones are held separately but makes obviously sense!

in the first place CRS were line bred from naturally black/white striped population. isn't this going full circle?
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
