Heard from the shop uncle. But may vary for different batch though sometimes he say he does not know.

F1 better? Thought for wild specimens the colouration and finnage are more impressive?

    Re: Apistogramma

Hmm from my experiences, no wild ones available. F1 still better then those inbreeding line.
But for colouration and finnage which are more impressive depends for whether parentage line genes good or not? Even if wild ones also can't 100% perfect right?

    Re: Apistogramma

I highly doubt C328's are F1s. They look line-bred quite far down the F-line to me. This is especially so for their viejita/macmasteri. You don't see F1s that colourful. Same goes for the other bred variants like caca triple red, agassizii red etc.

I haven't been to C328 in ages, been so busy, so the Rio Mamore may have been there for ages I'm not sure. I miss my old pair, it was a really good pair

Same thoughts too. Body porportion quite bad. I have seen over months and year the quality of Apistogrammas at C328 and cant convince me that they are F1s except maybe for a few. Unless C328 changes supplier. If so then it's good news.

Yup, fully agree.. Work more important.. No work no $$ support hobby also.
Try asking joe, have he seen any nice ones at ROC.. I still believe joe's supplier better than locally ones we saw. Order one pair try try first..

Change supplier? Unless another supplier give them better prices. Better quality and cheaper why not? Hehe

Agree too! Not F1s. Especially the Mamore. Looks really bleached and body proportions is off...

Biotope have no new shipment too i think. Anyone contacted him for news of any wild apistos coming in?

    Re: Apistogramma

    Hi All,

A quick update. I was at C328 this evening and spotted apistogramma pairs that just arrived in small packets placed on the table (think Mr/Mrs Toh still did not have time to transfer them into mini tanks yet). Mainly agassizii alanquer (2 pairs) and agassizii red (5 pairs) and another 2 pairs which due to my poor knowledge not able to confirm the breed (maybe veijita?). Still in good condition and decent colouring even though cramped in those small plastic bag when I saw them. Price wise very affordable.

Got myself a pair of nice alanquer Coloured up after few hours in my tank (used the drip method about 1.5 hours before letting into my tank).

Saw a pair on nijsseni placed at the usual betta rack; but condition quite bad (totally black and colourless) could have been there for some time already?

I guess mostly farm-bred ones... I ask him before he moved, said now monsoon season maybe have to wait awhile more till they settle in.

Wah you really got "bright" eyes..!
    好眼光。
Honestly I can't see very clearly because the tank a bit dirty and they are kept in such a small tank but I dare to bet that the female is going to breed very soon.!

Jurua spotted at C328 and cheap too. Very good finnage and colors. But female is missing. I presume dead. Perhaps can inquire for another female since price is for a pair.

    Re: Apistogramma

New stock came in today at C328.

Nice looking viejita (if i id correctly) and agassizii 'double red' as one of the pair has really nice blue face for the male. Borelli also looks damn nice too. All have very nice finnage. Interesting to note

These from my amateur opinion. Would have gotten the viejita if my 2ft tank is ready but too bad its not.

About 8-9 pairs sealed in tiny plastic bag on the table. Viejita, Agassizii, Caca red and borelli. Young adult with nice form.

    Re: Apistogramma

I was there last night. The T candidi is very nicely coloured. The male's tail is frayed at the end, but compared to alot of the T candidi available locally, this pair's amazingly coloured...I spent a long time staring at them, and if my wife wasn't there with me I'd probably have grabbed the pair
