I want to ensure that CO2 is circulating completely around my tank. Since I can't get a reactor as I'm only using a HOB filter, can I use a CO2 splitter and place my 2 diffusers at the corners (back) to accomplish this? Will it be more effective? Thanks in advance.

    Re: CO2 Splitter

How big is your tank? Using a HOB filter may lose Co2. Why not invest in a canister filter?

If you really want good Co2 distribution, plug your Co2 outlet with a rainbar and use a small pump to drive the Co2 across the length of the tank.

    Re: CO2 Splitter

My tank is a 2 footer. I own an eheim canister filter but I prefer the simplicity of the HOB. I forgot to mention that I am currently using a pump just above the diffuser to distribute the CO2 bubbles. Was just wondering of another solution instead of a pump. So would the CO2 splitter idea be of any good?

to inject co2 effectively, you need to minimize surface water agitation. otherwise co2 will be lost. and hob filter does agitate water surface.
so using a splitter does not help.

Your tank is small and one Co2 outlet is more than enough. But HOB filter will cause too much water surface movement to render your co2 ineffective.
