Wow! I think its very impressive scape for such an old planted tank. You must have done regular trimming. Thanks for sharing.

Hi guys,
I thought I would just share with you my really old planted tank, it's been with me since about 8-9 years ago. To be honest I don't even know exactly how old is it as I can't remember the exact year I got it.
While I have tried to aquascape the tank, the plants seem to find their own way around and have created this very dense jungle looking tank. Here's a photo that I took of it today.

Thanks! Trimming I do it once every week or two or when the plants look like they are about to explode out of the tank (yes there have been cases when there's more plants than water!)...
I just use my bare hands and trim off all the older leaves or pull out all the runners which are growing in places they shouldn't be growing etc. I even plant with my bare hands... could never figure out how people use tweezers or scissors..![]()

Given the size and maturity of the plants, I think the tweezers are useless, except for the tenellus in the front.
