    Hi,
Have read that it may be better to get a slightly oversized chiller so that it can cool faster and has the possibility for future upgrade. I am currently trying out CRS and some plants in a 1ft NANO cube tank, using the original lights and internal filter and have CO2 injection. Thinking of adding a chiller as my shrimps don't seem to survive well with the high temp.
Is considering the Resun CL450. So, I'm just wondering is it a suitable sized chiller for the 1ft cube tank? How much flowrate will the chiller require? Can't be too strong as I don't want the shrimps to be flying all over the place.... if I use a small pump with low flowrate, will it affect the operation of the chiller?

Hope some kind senior can advise. Thanks in advance

I aint a 'senior' but i did consider the scenario myself before that it is a difficult choice for a 1ft tank as you rightly pointed out that the flow will be too big for your tank.

Resun has a model that suit 1ft tank and you may consider it. I agree that a chiller should be a size up in capacity for better efficiency and further upgrading but it seems to me that it is not applicable to nano tank because of flowrate problem.

you are not alone, there is always headache for small tank :- http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=32618

Get a standard 2ft tank then.

Too bad CEO at home don't allow extra space to keep bigger tank

Furthermore, I have already committed to buy a CL450. Suppose I use a small cannister like the 2213, will the chiller malfunction due to insufficient flow?

Will it be ok for a 11/2 ft tank with a 2213?

    Thanks
