    Dear members,
can I know what equipment to use to create a "sunset" or "sunrise" effect for lightings. I have a problem of fish under great shock and bumping here and there when the lights goes off and into complete darkness when the room lights is not ON. As result, some ended up dead behind my moss wall.

    I just use a timer.

if you want, and you have multiple lights, then use various timers to simulate the effect.

I don't have a problems with fish being in shock when lights off. what kind are you keeping? maybe they need hiding places?

besides being in shock due to lighting, there is a remote possibility of electrical charge... I have heard of people actually grounding the tank water for this... basically when the tank lights come on, some charge passes through the water which disorient and scares them... I personally think its unlikely, but thought I would mention it in case...

If its lights, your fish will normally adapt over time... provide a couple of nice shady areas in the meantime.

Thanks for the advise guys. Its true that my tank is quite bare
and consist of only the moss wall and riccia as the foreground.
Will try to create some shade as my timer now is set from 12 noon to 6 so it wont goes into complete darkness after it switch OFF.

I make sure the room lights are on when the tank lights go out. This way, the lights will not drop from full to zero suddenly.

It depends on the type of fishes that are under shock. My saes suffer no shock, and swim about normally when I turn on the lights, but my nocturnal loaches go crazy when the lights are on. Since my tank is located in a dark place, what I did was, I lifted my light set and turned it upside down and turned it on, and slowly turn it around again, and place it back in place.
You could try that if it isn't too much of a problem.
