How to treat fish in a Heavily Planted tank

Hi all,

Three of my green neon are infested with white patches on their body and it is swollen. I have a hard time netting them as my is a 4 ft heavily planted tank. Have try swistch off light, using 2 nets etc etc. They just hide among the plants until I gave up.

The only thing I have done is changing 30% water every other three days for the past 2 weeks.

Is there any medication that I can use without affecting the other healthy fishes and plants? Are there any other solutions?

treatment varies from disease to disease... and plant tolerance to medication varies a lot... So there are a few things to consider

1) What disease do your fish have?
2) Which is more important? your plants or fish?
3) Treatment in-tank, or out of tank.
4) Method of treatment.

It is fugus infection. I wanted to treat it out of tank as don't want ot affect the plants and other fishes but problem is I'm unable to catch it.

Are there any other ways of catching it?

Plants as follows: Balanese, natan, hair grass, pearl grass and willow moss.

Fishes: Green neon tetra, golden tetra, otos and yamato

perhaps you could try protozin... I have used it in the past with minimal impact (that I could see) on my plants.

Thanks, I will try but would like to know what is protozin and what brand to buy.
