Altum Season are back !!

Just visited C328 an hour ago. Was told by Auntie that Altum Season are back again.
She had brought in about 60 pcs and another 13 pieces yesterday , but was sold out already.
Did an order with her just now. Cost around 2 red note. Small sizes only.
Bigger ones will come in around 1 months time, thats what i was told.

cool, hopefully a new batch of successful altum owners will emerge this year. I'm so happy with my batch from last year, they're huge now!

Yupe , he ordered the stock on last friday.
I went to his place at thomson 1st then proceed to C328.
Was told to wait till tuesday.
Bought 10 pcs now feeding tetra bits and frozen bloodworm.
Keeping fingers crossed for now!!

I also bought 10pcs from colourful yesterday. This is my first try, crossing my fingers. . Seems like this batch has been trained to take dried food already. Richard said he is going to bring in another 100+ pcs next week. His theory: the smaller AA can adapt better, higher chances to make it. I hope so. .

All the best! Altum keeping is one of the most painful (at the start) and yet rewarding (after you establish a group of survivors) aspects of the hobby.

To minimize loss, you may want to consider including Furan-2 as part of your quarantine procedure, followed by internal and external parasite treatment. Furan-2 helps to get rid of columnaris, which is I think the #1 killer of freshly imported altums.

at least 5 imo, any less and you may run into cichlid-style bullying. However, I believe some people have kept them in smaller numbers successfully too. Your mileage may vary

Today is day 4, all my altums are doing well except for one got trap and suck dead by the powerhead on the first day, my fault.
Now cross my fingers and pray hard

Healthy fish could avoid being suck by powerhead. Yours might not be healthy in the beginning and it either died and was suck into the powerhead or was too weak to swim away from it. Totally not your fault.

I am feeding my Altums with , "sea monkey" , tetra bits and frozen bloodworms. They seems only interested in "sea monkey" and tetra bits only though.
Will post some pics of my Altums later in the day.
