preventing algae from growing on sand

How do you prevent algae from growing on white sand? Is there some pre-scaping treatment needed to be done?

Maybe try a phosphate remover or filter pad. I hear it helps in preventing algae. Cheers!

I am actually targeting specifically at not having any green stuff on the white sand, not the whole tank as such degree of elimination might be detrimental to shrimps.
