I like how the single lotus floats above the blxya japonica, not so striking, but striking, you know what I mean..
Hi Guys,
My tank. How is it? How could I make it look better?

personally,i think the blyxia is too long...maybe if u trimmed it abit shorter and had taller plants at the back to fill the gap. it would provide more depth. Nice lotus tho...like tt effect...
juz my 2 cents worth[]
Thanks guys,
Lotus melted and had to cut them until one leave left. Yeah, my Japanese Rush indeed needs trimming.
Been contemplating on getting some red plants for the back too but up till now has not decided on what to get and what to remove.
How about replacing the polysmera(?)[slightly off centre to the left background] and replace it with Rotola Macranda? Looks pretty neat.

I think the 2 balls of blyxa are a bit big... they block off lots of the back plants.... and they force an almost symettrical look to the tank which i personally dislike. Oh and it would help if you changed the bright blue background.
Allen
Yup, Narrow leaved Red Macranda is on my mind.
Allen, you are right, in fact KF suggested removing the one on the left.
Still a long way from acquiring the finesse in scaping. Thought of signing up in flower arrangement classes with a CC but what will all the ladies think?!?
heheheh that you are a man with a sensitive nature?
Allen
Yeah, yeah, yeah, man with sensitive nature. But what will my lady at home think? "Socialising with other fishes in the vast ocean?quot;. As it is, discussing a second tank is a non-topic. So much for gf's support.

wat r the plants u got in there? I agree with the rest, yr blyxa does look abit too overgrown and symmetrical on both sides.. u hiding the rest of the tank, leaving only the centre portion... and the blue background is kinda out and not properly stick onto the glass, giving u air pockets
Simon,
Yeah, I know. My attempt to do the U-concept of aquascaping kinda turn out lousy. Didn't know those Blyxa would grow so big!
Plants are:
H. corymbosa
E. ozelot 'Green'
C. balansae (Hidden and not growing - in sufficient ligt)
B. japonica
E. oriental
E. tenellus
L. cardinalis
E. schuleteri (4 plantlets on the way)
C. calamistratum
E. diversifolia
C. wendtii
C. becketti
Java fern
Frogbit
Ang Lian (don't know what type of Lian)
All of you were quite right that most of the species are hidden by the Japanese Rush. Looking forward to a long weekend to rescape again. In the meantime, may visit Teo/LFS to recce for some red plants and look see for ideas.
