Popendetta furcata...

Here's one I found at Colourful Tropical Aquarium ... it's about 2cm...
![]()
(Sorry, that's the best I can do, given how fast they swim.)
It has yellow-tipped fins, and light blue eyes. It's belly is translucent, so you can see it's red innards.
It's lateral fins are above it's body, so you see yellow spots moving above it's body when it swims.
Very neat little fish. I just have no clue what it's called.
Last time hwchoy figured out my unknown fish was an Orange Chela. Any expert who can name this fish?
Thanks in advance.

Pseudomugil furcatus or Popondetta furcata
Which is the accepted scientific name?
There can only be ONE

currently valid as in Catalog of Fishes is Popondichthys furcatus, and in FishBase as Pseudomugil furcatus.
see the remarks section here: http://members.optusnet.com.au/rainb...s/Furcatus.htm
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
